Not only did the freelancers did not do the stats for Demonweb, it’s also somewhat unfair to paint an entire set based on four early cards.

Helzapoppn does make a valid point about the Demonweb set. Out of the 25 known stats, 18 are Borderlands or Borderlands + something else. But as far as we know that may be ALL the Borderland units in that set.

Borderlands seems to be the catch all, you want most things to be multifaction and if it doesn't quite fit anywhere else then stuff it in borderlands.

Kill off Princess Leia and I think a lot of the borderlands hate will go away . People were saying that with the rotation out of standard the EB was a self correcting problem but now that it looks like the only format will be vintage,or whatever it will be called in the future, she will be around forever.

Disagree. The mere fact that Borderlands has more pieces in it (or part of it), the probability of some bad interaction happening goes up without purposefully nerfing the pieces - in which case no one will ever play Borderlands.

How many are Civilization or Civilization + something else, Underdark or Underdark + something else, and Wild or Wild + something else?

I have no problem with Borderlands I quite like playing the faction. I do get annoyed with the EB but I am simple relaying anecdotal stories I have heard. 'well yes its a good piece in wild but in Borderlands you can make it awesome with the EB'

8 Civilization or Civilization + something
11 Underdark or Underdark + something
8 Wilds or Wilds + something

But, one should hope/assume that a set with the name of Demonweb should consist of more Underdark units then any other faction.

With the addition of the Blood War stats, DDM2 is broken down by number of available units per faction like so.

Borderlands:199 units

Civilization:177 units

Underdark:160 units

Wilds:164 units

I know you guys didn't do Demonweb. I'm just expressing a hope for the upcoming Harbinger-WotDQ restats.

Just to be the bad guy here, I actually like the DDM design policy to design the stats to match the monster's origin and not necessarily balance each faction. I think the Spotlight on the Macetail echoed the point: Why did they make the Dinosaur Lawful Good? Because the Dinosaur has High AC and follows the stat design of that faction, despite the fact that it's hard to wrap your head around a lawful good dinosaur beast.

I agree Borderlands gets a lot of action, but if it fits it fits. (And yeah, the definition of Borderlands is pretty fluid, so I'm not surprised a heck of a lot of pieces fall over there.)

Based on what Hougar posted, it definitely has more than other factions, but not by as much a margin as I think people think it does.

A second thing to look at: how many Borderlands are single-faction only? How many of the other factions are single-faction only? (The answer to this is probably not particularly interesting yet, but will be starting around War Drums.)

Going by the available number of units that are single faction, breaks down like this...

Borderlands: 34 (19 of them are Champions)

Civilization: 38 (25 of them are Champions)

Underdark: 33 (19 of them are Champions)

Wilds: 24 (16 of them are Champions)

* The sets that had a higher proportion of single faction units are... All-Stars and Blood War.*
