The Eternal Blade's bonus damage no longer applies on a miss for auto-damage attacks. The Eternal Blade's save bonuses must now be used before the actual save is rolled. These two fixes (plus the defender fix and the new stats) have reduced my concern about the EB's balance greatly.

Brad, what is your Top 10 figure list?

I didn't notice that but you're right. Thanks, that's good to know!

It's more a kneejerk reaction back to the days when CE was so amazing in the first 4 sets. We are going to be rapidly getting more figs that on a month the whole balance may be changed. It's gonna be a fun metagame up until GenCon as we keep getting new releases smashing up the environment.

Pre Dung of Dread it would be something like this.

1. EB
2. Farmer
3. Drider
4. Astral Stalker
Shrieking harpy
Merchant Guard
Werewolf Champ
Capri Copper
Rot Scarab Swarm
Nightmare

Basically 7 out of 10 with the top 4 all being borderlands.

My top 4 favorite picks so far from Dung are:
Oni
Death Knight
Vrock
Sellsword

Which are all borderlands as well. Not sure where things would settle in until we have seen the whole set.

Looks like a solid list.

It's looking like merchant guard and werewolf champ will both take a hit with DoD2. The merchant guard due to a lot more AE effects, the werewolf champ due to a lot more attacks vs def.

I think the hag is worth mentioning in the DoD2 set. Very fragile but for 22 points, she provides all the anti-mob abilities your warband needs.

The figures that most excite me from Dungeons of Dread are (in no particular order):
Cleric of Pelor
Halfling Paladin
Elf Archer
Death Knight
Howling Hag
Champion of Baphomet
Goblin Picador

These are other figures that I think are probably going to be competitive as well, but am uncertain about at this time:
Dwarf Warlord
Oni
Eye of Flame
Immolith
Vrock
Rakshasa Baron
Vampire Vizier
Kobold Archer
Wyvern
Bulette
Deathjump Spider
Bralani

I agree with this list from what I saw at XP but I would add the Warrior Wight and Drow Spiderguard to the second list.

Many of the pieces in DoD2 excite me based on how interesting the powers work, even if the piece itself isn't the best. It sure makes the game interesting.

As for competetiveness, I'll be looking at the following:

Elf Archer
Death Knight
Eye of Flame Beholder
Howling Hag
Lamia
EverFrost Ranger
Iron Defender
Oni
Shadow Demon
Champion of Baphamut
Wyvern
Runecarved Eidolon
Bulette
Vrock
Skeletal Tomb Guardian
Warrior Wight
Young Red Dragon

Thanks a lot Dave for the info on the Dragons, I am always most excited about the dragons, though in this particular case they don't seem like too good a piece for the points.

Thanks again,
Rafa.

Surprised to see the dragons listed as Good and Evil respectively. I thought they'd done away with that.

it wasn't long after making that decision that I realized I can never play DDM outside of VASSAL. Which means that I'm better off just buying, trading, or borrowing my qualifier band. So I don't have that restriction anymore.

I’m not the brightest guy, but can someone explain why the silver dragon costs more than the red? I’m not seeing it. It’s breath attacks lower (so is more likely to miss) and it doesn’t have the other attack the red has. It has lower AC, but 10 more hps….but still?

edited: jeez, I had to edit two typos, proving how bright I’m not (dang new computer/keyboard).

The BW is more likely to miss, but if it hits it is MUCH better. 40 damage AND a push 1 AND immobilize with save ends, vs just 25 damage. It also has 3 higher defense, and there are a lot of attacks that target defense out there. The red's defense of 18 is *extremely* low.

The silver isn't too good overall though, I pulled it on Thursday and I kinda regret playing it.
