#61. Re: Dungeons of Dread Stats by bshugg

So far to me, the Oni looks to be a tier 1 figure. It's a good deal better than the rest of the figs shown so far. It has great speed and strike range and as worded can move up and cone/bolt then go gaseous to minimize counter attacks before doing it again. I will definatly be picking up 4 of them.

But what really makes the oni powerful is that it is in the borderlands faction and can benefit from the Eternal Blade.

So far borderlands has about 8 of the top 10 figures I've seen stats for. That doesn't bode well. I'm hoping that when they errata DOD1 they might make some faction tweaks. At least add Good/evil to some more figs.

I’ve cleaned up the stats we have so far and posted them in a consolidated post af the top of the thread. As the remaining stats come in, I’ll keep updating that post. Thanks again to everyone who’s posted so far!

What's up with the Dragons? No one has seen their stats? Has anyone pulled a dragon? Thanks,

Rafa.

Looking at the 1st post with the stats, the Dwarf Warlord is listed as missing. Don't we have the stats for him from the rulebook?

I played with a Young Red (thanks to MarkDragon for letting me use his ticket), but I didn't get to keep it (Mark's minis and all).
This is strictly from memory, so take it with a grain of salt:

52 points

Level 8?
AC 24
DEF 20?
Speed F8
HP 85

Basic attack: +?? vs AC, 10 Damage + 10 fire
Breath weapon: +11 vs DEF (Ref), 25 fire damage. RECHARGE when first bloodied.

Dragon
Flight, Resist 5 fire

Champion 2
- Use when a critical hit is rolled: +20 damage
- ??

Thanks a lot Kithmaker!

Did you find it a reasonably good skirmish piece? How about the sculpt?

Thanks again!
Rafa.

Decent in skirmish, but what do I know? Twice it failed to do anything with its breath weapon (because I rolled 1s and 2s). It went nicely with the Shade Knight, who can turn a hit into a critical (then add 20 damage from the dragon).

I got to see a stack of cards when I picked Vrecknidj up from the airport including the silver.

Silver was 63 I believe and red in the 50's. Had a fairly low attack for their cost and mid range AC and HP. (23 ac 21 def on silver if I remember). Both had weak breathweapons. Silver was +8 for 40 cold with 0 on a miss. Recharge on bloody.

It was a commander with 2 commander effects, one giving some boon to allies that wasn't very noticable and the other granting a VP boost under a condition.

Kind of nice that all the dragons have some sort of treasure hording mechanic around the Victory areas.

I wasn't very impressed with its stats over all.

The Vrock was extremely nuts though for its cost. Especially since it can have 3 attacks every round and can get boosted by the Eternal blade allowing it to spit out 75 damage a round at +17/+17/+17

From 122 and 83 points to 63 and ~50? Wow... not so much kings of the battlefield anymore.

Thanks for sharing the stats!

I'm interested in the Champion of Baphomet. He looks like he could be a terror.

I think the blade and farmer lend more to borderlands strength then choice.

I'm counting blade and farmer as 1 and 2 most powerful figs.

I would like to respectfully request the Names of the figs on the list get underlined when time is in abundance.

thank you for the work.

The problem with the EB is that it gets more powerful when more figures are released. When you give a figure his buff that can attack multiple figures, it gets scary. Another thing that imbalances things is giving it to figures with autodamage.

Thanks to Brig, added the Defiant Rake, {Vrock:dungeons_of_dread}, Skeletal Tomb Guardian, and Giant Centipede, and finished the missing bits for the Warforged Infiltrator.

I’ve also moved the stats off to a separate page in a more perusable and printable form than here on the forums.

The Eternal Blade's bonus damage no longer applies on a miss for auto-damage attacks. The Eternal Blade's save bonuses must now be used before the actual save is rolled. These two fixes (plus the defender fix and the new stats) have reduced my concern about the EB's balance greatly.

Brad, what is your Top 10 figure list?

It's more a kneejerk reaction back to the days when CE was so amazing in the first 4 sets. We are going to be rapidly getting more figs that on a month the whole balance may be changed. It's gonna be a fun metagame up until GenCon as we keep getting new releases smashing up the environment.

Pre Dung of Dread it would be something like this.

1. EB
2. Farmer
3. Drider
4. Astral Stalker
Shrieking harpy
Merchant Guard
Werewolf Champ
Capri Copper
Rot Scarab Swarm
Nightmare

Basically 7 out of 10 with the top 4 all being borderlands.

My top 4 favorite picks so far from Dung are:
Oni
Death Knight
Vrock
Sellsword

Which are all borderlands as well. Not sure where things would settle in until we have seen the whole set.
